Keeping Room Addition
A rickety sun porch on a classic 1940 house was removed and replaced with a warm, cozy, wood-paneled European-style keeping room. The new room has heated French limestone floors with a wax finish that create an ages-old look and soft feel, walnut-stained wood beams in the vaulted ceilings, swing-out windows and doors for summer cross breezes, and painted wood paneling topped with a beveled ledge for framed art. Window seats flank the fireplace and create a warm sunny reading nook. Tone-on-tone creamy paints and fabrics throughout lend to the tranquil feel, and the long flowing cream silk curtains encase the room in a warm, snug hearth room feel in cold winters.
